ရာဇသတ်ကြီးကို ပြင်ဆင်သည့်ဥပဒေ

ပြည်ထောင်စုလွှတ်တော်သည် ဤဥပဒေကို ပြဋ္ဌာန်းလိုက်သည်။

၁။ ဤဥပဒေကို ရာဇသတ်ကြီးကို ပြင်ဆင်သည့်ဥပဒေဟု ခေါ်တွင်စေရမည်။ ၂။ ရာဇသတ်ကြီးတွင် ပယ်ဖျက်ထားသော ပုဒ်မ ၁၅ ကို အောက်ပါအတိုင်း ဖြည့်စွက်ရမည် –

“15. “Imprisonment for life” means imprisonment passed on a convicted person to serve in the prison until death.”

၃။ ရာဇသတ်ကြီး ပုဒ်မ ၅၃ ၌ ပယ်ဖျက်ထားသော ဒုတိယတွင် အောက်ပါအတိုင်း ဖြည့်စွက်ရမည်

“Secondly.– Imprisonment for life;”

၄။ ရာဇသတ်ကြီး ပုဒ်မ ၃၇၆ ကို အောက်ပါအတိုင်း အစားထိုးရမည် –

“376.

(1) Whoever commits rape except the offences of rape contained in sub-sections Punishments (2) and (3), shall be punished with imprisonment for a term of twenty years, or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.

(2) Whoever commits rape against a woman who is his own wife and is not under twelve years of age, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.

(3) Whoever commits rape against a woman who is under twelve years of age shall be punished with imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment for a term of twenty years.” for rape.
